Description

Power to Kids Workforce Training is a key component of Prevention Strategy 1 of the Power to Kids Framework. This training seeks to upskill out-of-home and residential carer workers around key indicators, prevention and early intervention strategies and responses relating to child sexual exploitation, harmful sexual behaviour and dating violence.

Participants will increase their confidence to have 'brave conversations' about sexual safety. Power to Kids Workforce Training includes two pre-requisite elearns and access to the Power to Kids Online Portal, which contains a suite of age-appropriate resources on relevant topics.

Outcome

Power to Kids Workforce Training Learning Outcomes include:  
•    Increased knowledge about harmful sexual behaviour, child sexual exploitation & dating violence.
•    Improved capabilities to identify harmful sexual behaviour, child sexual exploitation & dating violence & to ensure advocacy, exit & healing. 
•    Increased self-efficacy in having sexual health & safety conversations with children & young people.  
Participants will have access to practical resources and prevention and early intervention strategies to respond to risks as they arise.

Who is this training for?
This training is designed for those working in out of home or residential care, or for workers who are closely connected to out-of-home care and residential care. Participants will be provided access to two e-learns (Power to Kids Introduction and Cultural Safety), these should be completed before attending the live training.
