Description

This online workshop is ideal for staff across a range of sectors who work directly with clients and are eager to integrate the benefits of a trauma-informed lens into their practice. This engaging and interactive workshop aims to equip you with a deeper understanding of trauma, its diverse impacts on individuals, the ways it can manifest and present in people around us, and how to respond effectively. 

The workshop will explore key theoretical concepts including architecture of the brain, neurological processes, the impact of trauma on the brain, and how trauma can change behaviour and perceptions of experiences. 
In addition to the theoretical knowledge, the workshop offers practical tools and strategies, including trauma-informed frameworks that you can put to use in your practice to respond effectively to those affected by trauma.

Who is this training for?
This training is ideal for staff who work directly with clients. This may include workers in community and human services, social services, healthcare, aged care, disability, emergency services and education. 

Outcome

Participants will gain:
•    Enhanced confidence resulting from increased knowledge and understanding of key trauma-informed frameworks and theories.
•    Advance skills in identifying and recognising signs and symptoms of trauma, enabling more effective support.
•    Strengthened ability to respond empathetically and effectively in a trauma-informed manner and to create trauma-sensitive environments.
•    Increased knowledge and understanding of topics including development trauma, attachment theory, trauma-related injuries, trauma in adulthood and applying trauma-informed principles to practice.
